We are working exclusively on behalf of a well-established bespoke joinery business based in Grantham to recruit an experienced Workshop Manager.
The business is at an incredibly exciting stage as they have grown to a point where they have a fantastic client base with a varied and extensive work pipeline of extremely high spec work. They stand out in the industry in a number of ways but particularly in the high end work that they do and the detail of the specification work that they take and therefore there is very little need for onsite adjustment and the work is virtually at finished state in the workshop with very little work needed on fitting.
This is a key leadership role within a quality-driven workshop in a very exciting stage of the business growth and expansion. It will be ideal for a joinery professional who enjoys combining hands-on expertise with team leadership.
Package & Working Hours
Monday to Friday 8-4.30
Two 30-minute breaks taken with the joinery team

CNC experience would be advantageous due to some of the materials handled but is not essential.
The successful candidate must have extensive experience within the joinery industry, be self-motivated, ambitious and have a sound knowledge of taking off drawings, planning projects, costing and a strong productivity method of working.
The Workshop Manager will manage and motivate a team of joiners to produce purpose-built bespoke items. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are achieved and projects are delivered on time and to specification.
This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone with a joinery manufacture background, who has a passion for quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Motivate and manage a team of skilled Joiners.
• Plan & allocate workloads in line with project deadlines and client requirements.
• Monitor standards throughout the manufacturing process, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Manage stock levels, material usage and tooling maintenance.
• Implement improvement initiatives and enhance productivity.
• Control department budgeting and finances and report to Directors on monthly performance results.
• Ensure compliance with and Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
About You
You will be an experienced joiner with proven workshop leadership capability and a strong understanding of bespoke production environments.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a workshop or production management role
Strong joinery or carpentry background with hands-on fabrication skills
The confidence to lead and develop a small team
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A solid understanding of workshop health & safety best practice
The ability to read and work from technical drawings
Solid experience as a joiner
A gold CSCS card is preferred but not essential
