We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Temporary Quality Control Assistant to join a busy seed industry company based in Lincoln. This role requires the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with strong time management, good hygiene, and excellent housekeeping skills to prevent cross contamination.
Contract: Temporary, until early October
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am – 6pm (hours may vary during first month training)
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Please note due to the peak period at our client’s company, no week long holidays will be permitted during the contract duration. If you have a pre-booked holiday (apart from odd days), please do not apply as you will not be considered for this position however you will earn holiday pay during your contract which can be requested at any time.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage intake of bulk trailers, including weighing, paperwork checks, and sampling incoming products
-Perform plant checks by physically inspecting 2kg seed samples (plant checks) to ensure quality and legal standards
-Conduct hourly quality control tests and record all findings accurately on QC reports
-Liaise with drivers, plant machinists, and packing teams to maintain smooth operations
-Report any issues promptly to the QC Team Lead
Requirements:
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
-Ability to work flexible shifts, initially 8 hours per day, progressing to 12-hour shifts
-Good communication and teamwork skills
-Physical ability to carry out sample inspections
-Ability to work well under pressure and remain focused during busy and stressful periods
Due to the location of the company own transport would be preferable.
Training:
Full training will be provided within the Quality Control department.
