Support Engineer – Permanent Role
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £26,650 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (37.5 hours per week, including 1-hour unpaid lunch break)

My client is a Lincoln-based organisation operating within an exciting and high-growth market. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a newly created role within the business, offering an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about IT support and looking to build a long-term career within a successful and employee-owned organisation.
You will play a key role in delivering first-class technical support to customers, assisting with cloud-based products, hardware installations, internal IT projects, and supporting the wider team as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Promote outstanding levels of customer satisfaction with my client’s products and services by:
Providing 1st and 2nd line support for all my client’s products via the helpdesk, remote support, and phone.
Preparing and supporting hardware installations both on-site and off-site.
Allocating 3rd line tasks to developers and assisting with testing and documentation.
Troubleshooting customer and my client’s processes, applications, and systems.
Monitoring and managing helpdesk performance.
Provide internal PC and IT support.
Manage internal and external IT support projects.
Manage suppliers as agreed.
Liaise with and support customers, industry bodies, and third-party IT teams as required.
Support other members of my client’s team, including:
Assisting the development team with the development and maintenance of products and projects, as well as software testing and documentation where appropriate.
Understand and uphold my client’s Quality Management System (QMS), including its Quality Policy, goals, objectives, and individual responsibilities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a healthy, successful business and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives.
About You
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and a passion for problem-solving. This role would suit:
A graduate, college leaver, or school leaver looking to start a career in IT support
An experienced Helpdesk or Support Engineer looking for their next career opportunity
Someone keen to develop their technical skills within a growing organisation
You will ideally have experience or knowledge of:
Microsoft Office 365
Windows 10/11 environments
Windows Server 2016–2022
Supporting servers, laptops, and mobile devices
Setting up desktops and laptops
Troubleshooting and resolving IT issues
Providing excellent written and verbal communication
