Office & Payroll Manager

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Office & Payroll Manager to join our client’s team on a Temporary to Permanent basis. This is a key role responsible for payroll, HR administration, and day-to-day financial operations using Sage 50 Cloud systems.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & HR
End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payroll using Sage 50 Cloud Payroll
Managing payroll records and employee databases
Checking and approving timesheets, ad-hoc payments and deductions
Weekly and monthly HMRC online submissions
Pension auto-enrolment administration and submissions
Managing new starters and leavers, including employee files and P45s
Managing absences (holiday, sickness, maternity/paternity) with correct documentation
PAYE and NIC payments via BACS
Payroll year-end processing
Maintaining personnel files and liaising with an external HR consultant to ensure compliance
Purchase Ledger
Supplier account management
Posting supplier invoices and ensuring correct nominal codes
Monthly BACS supplier payments
Creating new supplier accounts and raising purchase orders
Sales Ledger
Customer account management
Creating and posting sales invoices and credit notes
Ensuring correct nominal coding
Credit control, including chasing outstanding debts, sending statements and liaising with external debt collection agencies
Accounts & Finance
Petty cash processing
Monthly credit card posting and reconciliation
Monthly bank reconciliations
Daily bank postings (customer payments, direct debits, standing orders, charges)
General ledger journals
Quarterly VAT returns, including checking VAT codes, submitting to HMRC and arranging payment
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in payroll and office/accounts management
Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud Payroll and Accounts
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident handling HMRC, pensions and VAT processes
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
