This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced Head of HSE to drive strategy, inspire cultural change, and elevate Health, Safety & Environmental performance across the site.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full ownership of the site’s Health, Safety & Environmental strategy — embedding best practice, strengthening compliance, and championing continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership
Develop and implement the site-wide HSE strategy.
Drive measurable improvements in HSE systems, standards, and processes.
Build and nurture a proactive, positive safety culture with strong employee engagement.
Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, conducting thorough root cause analysis.
Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented and closed effectively.
Deliver clear reporting and analysis of HSE KPIs to senior leadership.
Review and update risk assessments, safe systems of work, and policies.
Ensure full compliance with UK HSE and environmental legislation.
Work towards and support ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation.
Conduct internal environmental audits.
Mentor and develop the H&S Apprentice.
Deliver engaging training and awareness initiatives across the business.
What We’re Looking For
This role requires a confident, hands-on leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys influencing at all levels.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Proven senior HSE experience within manufacturing (electro-mechanical preferred).
Strong knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation.
Experience leading incident investigations and conducting root cause analysis.
Demonstrable success driving cultural change and improving HSE maturity.
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement).
Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Environmental KPI management experience.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Visio.
Excellent organisational, communication, and project management skills.

Salary & Benefits
Up to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Annual bonus scheme
