About the Role

Reflect Recruitment Group is working on behalf of an established engineering and fabrication company based in Newark, who are looking to recruit an experienced CAD Draughtsperson / 3D Design Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

Starting salary of £35,000+, negotiable depending on experience. Monday to Friday working hours, working 08:00 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday and 08:00 – 15:30 on a Friday.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in technical drawing, 3D modelling and engineering design to become part of a specialist manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and 3D models to support the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke engineering and steel fabrication projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and software such as SolidWorks.
Develop accurate fabrication and manufacturing drawings from initial concepts, specifications and engineering requirements.
Create and modify designs for steel components, fabricated assemblies and bespoke equipment.
Work closely with engineers, fabricators and production teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for manufacture.
Prepare detailed drawings, dimensions, specifications and material information for workshop production.
Review and amend existing drawings to accommodate design changes and customer requirements.
Ensure all drawings meet relevant quality standards, technical specifications and project deadlines.
Assist with identifying potential design or manufacturing issues before production begins.
 
The ideal candidate must have previous experience working as a CAD Draughtsperson, CAD Technician, Design Technician or in a similar engineering design role. Be proficient in AutoCAD, with strong 2D technical drawing skills and experience with 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks or similar packages. Experience within steel fabrication, sheet metal, mechanical engineering or manufacturing would be highly advantageous
