GROUP HR MANAGER
Spalding
£50,000–£60,000 DOE
Permanent
Ready to make a real impact on people, performance and business success?
Are you an experienced HR professional who combines sound employment knowledge with a hands-on approach, strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge and support managers?

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded Group HR Manager to take the lead on HR across a diverse group of businesses.
This is an opportunity to work directly with business leaders, influence how people are managed and developed, and shape the future of HR across the group.

The role
You will be the go-to HR lead across the group, balancing the delivery of a reliable day-to-day HR service with the opportunity to drive meaningful improvements.
You will lead a small HR support team, work closely with managers and senior leaders, and help build a workplace where people can develop, perform and succeed.

Your role will include:
–          Leading HR operations: Take ownership of recruitment, employee relations and day-to-day HR, providing practical advice and ensuring issues are handled fairly, confidently and consistently.
–          Driving people performance: Support and challenge managers to improve attendance, engagement, retention and overall team performance.
–          Developing talent: Strengthen workforce planning, appraisals, learning and development, and the processes that help people reach their potential.
–          Improving how the Group work: Enhance HR systems, records and reporting to provide accurate, meaningful information that supports better business decisions.
–          Leading the team: Manage the HR support function and oversee payroll delivery in partnership with Finance.
–          Supporting wider business needs: Oversee facilities and agreed business-service projects, while identifying relevant grant and funding opportunities and leading applications where appropriate.
You will have the autonomy to make improvements, the support of an existing team and direct access to the people making key business decisions.

The ideal candiate:
We want someone who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery — a person who is equally comfortable advising on a sensitive employee relations issue, coaching a manager through a difficult conversation or improving a process that makes the business run more effectively.

You will have:
–          Strong generalist HR experience and a sound understanding of UK employment practice.
–          Confidence managing employee relations matters, making informed decisions and knowing when specialist advice is required.
–          The ability to build trusted relationships while having honest, constructive and sometimes challenging conversations.
–          Experience helping managers take greater ownership of their teams and improve people management.
–          Excellent organisation, attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
–          Confidence using HR systems, data and reporting to identify issues and drive improvements.

A CIPD level 5 qualification and payroll experience are desirable, but practical experience, sound judgement and the ability to make a difference matter just as much. Equivalent experience is very much welcomed.
