Workroom Factory Assistant (Temp to Perm)

We are recruiting for a client based between Newark and Grantham for a Workroom assistant as a result of growth.
Hours – Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm and this position is temporary to permanent.
Starting Hourly rate: £12.80ph
In the role of Workroom Assistant you will be joining a small but extremely busy team, you will assist the production staff in the workshop fetching and carrying of materials, cutting material to size, packing and helping load finished product. Training will be provided, we are looking for someone with a good work ethic and keen to be part of a team.
This is a manual role and does include daily lifting and moving of product and loading and unloading of deliveries so you will need to be physically capable of this.
As Workroom Assistant you will:
• Look at the customer order and cut out material to specified lengths and sizes.
• Pack/batch our products ready for dispatch with couriers
• Support by doing a final check for any defects before dispatch.
• Cut our floor protection to size for customer orders.
• Support with off-loading deliveries of our fabric
• Support with general workroom housekeeping
• Drive the company van occasionally to collect fabric and some deliveries.
• Support with stock-take

• Be able measure accurately.
• Be able to work well within a team
• Have the ability to communicate well, learn quickly & take feedback.
• Ideally have worked in a similar production/work room environment.
• Be able to lift and carry heavy rolls of fabric
• A full UK driving license
