We are recruiting on behalf of a Newark based client for a Junior Buyer/Planner to join their team on a permanent, full time basis. This is a new role and a new addition to the team so a chance to really make it your own.
Once initial training and induction has been passed the role can be considered to include hybrid working but you will need to be able to work full time in the office to start with.
Offering a salary of £29-£31k and benefits to include: increased holidays, pension, life assurance, social events.
We are looking for someone who has got 1-2 years experience in a similar role, who understands the premise of the role but still prepared to learn and develop. This function not only supports the company’s operational efficiency but also impacts its ability to meet customer expectations and maintain competitive advantage in the market so its important to get the right person in the role.
Responsibilities -
* Manage and oversee the procurement of materials and goods, aligning purchasing decisions with production schedules and inventory requirements.
* Demand forecasting – Support procurement strategies to maintain inventory at optimal levels and meet production schedules.
* Ensure contracts with suppliers are met, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
* Cost Analysis – Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including warehouse, quality assurance, and engineering, to ensure material specifications are met.
* Purchase finished goods from outside suppliers in accordance with MRP requirements and customer orders required dates.
* Ensure compliance with the companies Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations
Knowledge/Previous experience –
* Previous experience in planning and/or procurement
* Professional certification beneficial but not essential
* ERP System understanding, Microsoft Office
* Strong analytical skills
* Communication abilities
