Engineering and Workshop Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our client’s Lincoln based company. If you are someone with solid technical skills, good organisation, positive, and a can-do attitude this opportunity might be for you.
 
In this role, you’ll help keep the workshop running smoothly, supporting fabrication/welding work, looking after projects, and making sure everything is done to a high standard.
 
About the Client
Metal fabrication company that designs, engineers and produces bespoke steel, aluminium and stainless-steel structures.
They handle a wide range of jobs, from small metalwork tasks to large structural steelwork, including architectural metalwork, staircases, sheet-metal fabrication and custom steel structures.
 
Key Responsibilities
Experience in welding and fabricating.
Interpreting engineering drawings.
Producing quotes, estimates, and invoices.
Maintaining strong customer relationships.
Using SolidWorks or AutoCAD for design and drafting tasks.
Leading and supporting workshop staff; stepping in for management when required.
General administration and data entry.
Ensuring the workshop is well-organised, safe, and efficient.
Maintaining a keen eye for detail and upholding strong work ethic standards.
 
About You
Engineering degree or relevant technical qualifications.
Skilled welder/fabricator with workshop experience.
Management/Leadership experience.
Confident interpreting drawings and technical information.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Competent with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn from senior tradespeople.
Positive attitude with the ability to lead and support a team.
Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum – DOE
Benefits: On-site parking, supportive team-oriented environment, opportunity to work on a wide range of custom and interesting projects.
Hours: Typically, Monday–Friday, core hours 8:00–17:00 (to be specified).
***Flexibility required (7:30–17:30) when running the shop or covering management/holiday periods — to be discussed at interview.
