Mechanical Design Engineer

Own Transport: Due to the location of the site, candidates must have access to their own transport.
 
£13.50 Depending on Experience
Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent – Monday to Friday 
 
My client is an innovative manufacturer with a strong reputation in the industrial sector looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
 
Whether you’re early in your design engineering journey or bringing years of experience, this role offers real hands-on involvement in the full design lifecycle from concept through to production. You’ll be involved in a variety of projects, including the design of industrial valves and other bespoke mechanical components.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and support the design of new and existing products and projects.
– Create effective design solutions to meet customer and manufacturing requirements
– Prepare full production design packs including detailed drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
– Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met
– Conduct job costing and quotations
– Source suitable materials and liaise with suppliers and customers.
– Ensure all designs align with technical and quality standards
 
Skills & Experience Required:
 
– Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant practical experience.
– Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or Onshape)
– AutoCAD experience is a bonus but not essential.
– Strong communication and organisation skills
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
– Creative problem-solver with attention to detail.
– Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
