Setter/Operator (Milling)

Are you a skilled machinist with experience in milling? Our client based in Lincoln is on the lookout for a talented Setter/Operator to join their team on a permanent, full-time contract. In this role, you’ll be working with milling machines equipped with Heidenhain controls, handling rough and surface milling with some drilling. While programming isn’t a direct part of this role, we are looking for someone who’s comfortable making edits to programmes to adjust tolerances and keep up production standards.

What you’ll be doing:
– Setting up and operating milling machines for rough and surface milling.
– Carrying out some drilling work as part of the process.
– Tweaking programmes on the machines to make sure tolerances are spot on.
– Reading and interpreting technical drawings and job specifications.
– Inspecting your work to ensure it meets high standards.
– Keeping the machines running smoothly with basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
– Follow health and safety regulations at all times.

What we’re looking for:
– Someone with hands-on experience in a setter/operator role, particularly on milling machines.
– Knowledge of Heidenhain controls is essential
– Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings with excellent attention to detail.
– A proactive problem-solver who’s comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop environment.
– Formal Qualifications are preferred, ideally Level 1 as a minimum – must have a knowledge of health and safety and be able to read from drawings

– Hours: Monday to Friday Days Initially 7am to 3:30pm, with some lates 3:30pm to 2am with shift allowance.
