Quality Control Assistant (Sleaford)

Our client based in Sleaford, Lincolnshire require a Quality Control Assistant to join their team initially on 6 month fixed term contract. This an exciting opportunity working for a large reputable company. This role is offered on a 40 hour week basis, Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm, with a remuneration on £25,626.00

About The Role:
Working with the Quality Control Manager to provide the expertise to ensure that all raw materials used and finished goods produced are of high quality and to the specification required, so giving our customers full confidence in our products.

The main purpose of the role:
To ensure all materials entering or leaving the site are of a acceptable quality, through visual checking and laboratory testing.

Working Relationships and Environment:
Reports to the Quality Control Manager. Liase with Production Supervisors and operatives, Technical Manager and Warehouse Supervisor. On occasion will liase with suppliers.

Principle Accountabilities:
Authorisation budget of £500. No direct reports.

Principle Responsibilities:
1. To undertake in a quick and efficient manner physical quality tests on raw materials and finished goods, as directed by the Quality Control Manager, in accordance with the procedures in place and to record the results of these tests on the correct forms and software systems.
2. To ensure that the laboratory stocks of disposables, media and other consumables are maintained.
3. To bring any product or Raw Material failure to the attention of the Quality Control Manager.
4. To raise NCR reports on IFS.
5. To receipt in and print blue labels for bought in Raw materials.
6. To sample, check and label raw materials on receipt, ensuring all details are recorded and that they are entered onto IFS correctly. (Majority of raw materials received at GHK Warehouse- Sleaford)
7. To keep the laboratory in a safe and hygienic condition.
8. To ensure that Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
9. To request COA documentation from Suppliers for Raw Materials received.
10. To ensure that all products are UFAS, VMD and Trading Standards compliant, using HACCP principles.
Level 2 Certificate in HACCP

In addition to the above you must have good attention to detail, be computer literate, good numeracy skills and have a driving licence as occasional travel is required.
