Our well-established Engineering client based in Gainsborough are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This role entails you to perform various fitting and assembly tasks in a well-kept manufacturing production facility.
The ideal candidate will have experience with assembling and rebuilding of machinery.
This hourly rate for this role is £15.50 an hour. Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4pm, Friday 7:30am-3pm. Overtime available. 10-minute paid tea break and 30-minute unpaid lunch. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Staff canteen on site with cooking facilities available.
Roles and Responsibilities:
– Mechanical assembly of component parts, in sub-assemblies as well as overall machine builds
– Ability to read and understand Mechanical Engineering drawings, to build assemblies and machines from the information provided
– Ability to dismantle and overhaul used machines and rebuild in a methodical manner
– Knowledge of pneumatics
– Maintaining a clean, organised, safe and productive work area
– Completing given tasks safely and efficiently
– Ability to work to deadlines
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
– Interaction with other departments such as design, machining and electrical
– Further training available if needed
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
– Time-served or relevant mechanical fitting experience
– Good inter-personal skills, teamwork, hands-on and flexible approach with effective communication skills
– Relevant previous mechanical fitting experience
– Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
– Ability to work methodically and to high standards, with good attention to detail
– Ability to work to close tolerances
– Ability to be proactive and work with minimal supervision
– Knowledge of pneumatics
