Junior Buyer (x2 Vacancies)
Located on the outskirts of Grantham, our client are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Junior Buyer within their dynamic Material Control department on a temporary to permanent basis. About the role:-
You'll be polite, professional, conscientious and a concise candidate who will also be prepared, proactive and open-minded about the varied day-to-day tasks that shall be at hand. The main focus of the role will be working closely with and as a key part of the Material Control team, you will be responsible for actioning Requisitions for all sites in a timely manner and efficiently clearing GRN issues and Invoice queries. You will also be responsible for expediting orders and maintaining Internal Stakeholder Expectations.
The successful candidate will be a passionate and driven team player who is tenacious, commercially minded, possesses strong IT skills and is able to work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:-
• Fulfilling requisitions on behalf of the business
• POC to provide support, resolve queries and offer advice.
• Assist in Sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations.
• Supplier meetings and engagement
• Management of Procurement Schedules for Min Max products
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders
• Negotiating discounts and savings
• Supplier performance management
• Ensuring adherence to procurement processes and procedures
• Ensuring best value by working with Suppliers through Benchmarking practices
• Ensure Purchase orders are placed within our existing Approved Supplier List Highlighting opportunities for additions and consolidations.
• Expedite and monitor open Purchase Orders
• Ensure visibility for business decisions, including highlighting and escalating risks and opportunities to the Group Senior Buyer
• Work with the Group Senior buyer to establish Standard Business Operations and recommend improvements within the process.
• Update item and vendor records for changes such as price, terms, descriptions, addresses.
The successful candidate must have the following:-
• Relevant business degree or equivalent experience (desired)
• Highly results orientated (proven track record of exceeding targets)
• Strong stakeholder management skills with effective Communication with people at all levels across the organisation and externally
• Customer focussed.
• Supply Chain Management Experience
• Demonstrates negotiation skills.
• Supply Chain / Procurement software experience
• Computer skills – focused on Excel / Word / PowerPoint
Additional Qualities:-
– Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written.
– Excellent team working skills but also the ability to use own initiative.
– Open to embracing new ways of working and comfortable with change.
– Ability to manage own workload to meet specific deadlines.
– Positive attitude towards all work, colleagues and customers.
– Experience with procurement would be helpful, but not necessary
– Experience with data analysis / Cleansing
– Experience with EFACS system or equivalent would be helpful,
This is a superb opportunity to be joining a well established, friendly and cohesive company offering 37.5 working hours a week on a temporary to permanent basis:-
– Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30
– Friday 08:00 – 13:30
