Agricultural Mechanic

My client near Bingham is looking for an Agricultural Mechanic. They have a strong reputation for delivering high standards and have businesses who continue to use them for the quality they deliver.

Working Hours:

– 40 hours per week, with possible overtime. £16.38 per hour.
– 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday.
– During peak times (July, August, September), working Saturdays and Sundays may be required.

– We are a reputable agricultural machinery service and repair company with a team of dedicated professionals. Our services include mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance for a variety of agricultural equipment.

Responsibilities:

– Perform mechanical repairs on both old and new tractors.
– Handle non-mechanical agricultural tasks, including electrics, diagnostics, and hydraulics.
– Conduct hydraulic hose repairs.
– Welding and fabrication using MIG, TIG, and stick methods.
– Provide on and off-site services within a 20-mile radius using a company van.
– Maintain a tidy working environment and take responsibility for service and maintenance records.
– Address breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
– Engage in customer-facing activities and be proactive in seeking new business opportunities.
– Involvement in paint spraying and sandblasting processes.
– Work with metal, including laser cutting.

Qualifications:

– Ideally, a background in agriculture and experience working with tractors.
– Proficiency in electrics, diagnostics, hydraulics, welding, and fabrication.
– Experience with mechanical and non-mechanical agricultural repairs.
– Knowledge of hydraulic and hose repairs.
– Welding skills in MIG, TIG, and stick methods.
– Customer-facing skills and a proactive approach to business development.
– Passion for agriculture and problem-solving.
